A Loft with an Attractive Design

Lights, materials, lines and volumes create a harmonious contrast in this attractively designed Loft. Dark colors stand out on light walls and bright objects capture the attention within the space.

Entering the loft, warm and articulated lights outline the ceiling of the living area and with a hug they join the straight and gritty lines of the kitchen. The lighting also emerges from the walls, which house racks embedded in stoneware slabs with a Lasa marble effect have luminous shelves. In the center, an imposing electric blue sofa overlooks a bronze lacquered metal effect TV cabinet. This is characterized by two side drawers and a recessed front surface that hides all the electronic devices. The inclined table legs are also in the same finish, supporting an oval top in Sahara Noir and the whole kitchen.

This one has dark bases and columns that match a very thin light top of the same material as the living room walls. The kitchen is structured in three parallel volumes: a base under the window, a central island with a snack top in Sahara Noir and a full-height column consisting of ovens and refrigerators. On the side, overlooking the living room, an exposed cellar characterized by bright shelves acts as a return light. In fact, along the same line of sight, there is a framework-cabinet that recalls the constructivist Red Wedge by El Lissitzky, also illuminated.

In the sleeping area, a central equipped corridor hides a small closet and leads to the two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom of the loft is characterized by a luminous background panel covered in the same stoneware as the living area. Stylistic references are also found in the intersecting luminous lines that divide the slab. A wardrobe with internal shelves covered in velvet, drawers with dedicated compartments, smoked glass and illuminated side racks remains avalaible on the right side of the room.

In front of the bed, the bathroom has a sculpture-washbasin, made of a marble slab in warm tones, combined with a metallic bronze lacquered cabinet with drawers. The two bedside tables on the side of the bed also have the same finish. The service bathroom follows the same characteristics as the master bathroom, while the guest bedroom is characterized by a bridge structure in gray tones. Hangers alternate with shelves, and, on the sides, pull-out shelves are useful for supporting small objects. Even in the sleeping area, the skilful use of lights and materials makes the loft environment captivating and hospitable.

Stylistic contrasts in a contemporary villa

The theme of contrast is expressed in a two-family villa with a strong and elegant character. Black becomes the protagonist of a story that tells different finishes, colors and opacities in which each element plays a primary role in the creation of the final work.

Project: Modulor
Year: 2021/2022
Site: Curno

A large two-family villa is distributed over three levels, developing the theme of contrast in multiple declinations.
Already at an architectural level, it can be seen in the alternation between large French windows and white plastered vertical partitions. A game of solids and voids that enriches the environment with natural light.

The elements recovered from the old house in dialogue with new custom-made furnishings play a key role in the choice of furnishings. The kitchen is a masterful example of this, in which the matt black lacquered doors create a suggestive combination with the wall units. The latter are covered in black back laquered glass, recalling the aesthetic line of the appliances. On them dominates the Panda White marble top with black veins sometimes enriched by contaminations of a green undergrowth.
The contemporaneity of the kitchen marries the recovery of the adjacent day cabinet in glossy black lacquer, which rediscovers its relevance even after 40 years of splendor. The neutral-toned stoneware floor becomes the basic palette on which more intense colors stand out, ranging from geometric burgundy upholstery to bathroom furniture in the same color.

Upstairs, the change of flooring in favor of a natural oak parquet softens the perception of the rooms while respecting the theme of opposites with insertions of slate-effect tiles in the bathrooms. Once again, the neutrality of the architectural chromatic choice is contrasted by more decisive choices such as the terracotta-colored plastering of a single room and the teal velvet headboard for the double room.

Glimpses of antiquity in a contemporary attic

A high-altitude attic in which ancient elements interact with the contemporary and linear aesthetics of the furnishings. Touches of color can be recognized among the neutral interiors, giving character and elegance, enhanced by the natural light and bright tones of the architecture.

Project: Modulor
Year: 2021

The renovation of this attic involves both the architectural setting and the development of the interior furnishings, in a continuous dialogue between inside and outside. Set in the living area, the large windows flood the room with natural light, offering an excellent view of the Orobic Prealps. The great brightness is accentuated by the choice of white beams and walls, in contrast with the heat-treated oak floor with warm dark veins.
The furnishings of the living area marry the neutral colors of an ice gray highlighting the chromatic choice of the teal velvet of the sofa and the Tundra Gray marble top of the kitchen with deep light veins.
The peninsula structure of the kitchen provides a comfortable worktop that can also be used as a snack bar for quick meals. On the left, the columns serving the kitchen flow into an equipped furniture on the side, serving the passage and entrance area to the attic.

Even in the sleeping area, the furnishings reflect the linear and luminous aesthetics of the living area, with shaped recessed handles.
The bedroom uses the side wall for a service closet, while the head of the bed features a greater thickness providing additional storage space. In front of the large double bed with trunk structure, a sliding door marks the entrance to the walk-in closet. This is equipped with double-height hangers on the sides and drawers with linen in the center topped with shelves for folded. The entire structure in canvas bilaminate guarantees great resistance and a soft touch aesthetic.

The impact created in the bathroom is different, in which, beyond the shower, the crystal takes shape in the shaped cabinet of a deep blue with a Lacobel top in the same color. Closing doors with wooden frame and acid-etched glass inserts mark the closure of an utily room that takes advantage of the low height of the attic.

A staircase equipped with lighting marks steps and an important contemporary design wall chandelier welcomes guests at the entrance, leading them into the interchange between the living and sleeping areas. This is enriched with small antique furnishings, creating a suggestive vintage corner.

The fascination of matter

A bright, prestigious and elegant Milanese apartment in which materials with very different aesthetics, finishes and performances come together in a harmonious union.

Project: Modulor
Year: 2019-2020
Site: Milano

The emblem of this prestigious Milanese apartment is certainly the kitchen, embellished by the presence of this variegated marble with an oriental flavor. A Wasabi marble whose neutral tone is interspersed with green veins that seem to capture the external vegetation to transform it into a piece of furniture. The lower volumes of the kitchen and the textured white lacquered wall units with recessed handles express linearity and elegance. They are accompanied by a chain in brushed steel able to increase their resistance. The professional touch of this finish echoes the material of the appliances placed in correspondence with the equipped wall.

Also the service shelves on the bottom, that house recipe books and small objects, are covered in steel. Different materials of origin, aesthetics and performances find meaning in the refined stylistic combination. Elements that analyzed individually are able to strongly characterize the interiors but express their maximum stylistic charge when they are combined with each other.

A Wasabi marble slab stands out on the wall between the living area and the kitchen as an artistic composition. Divided into geometric portions and backlit, it fills the visual space and connects the peninsula kitchen with the Living area.

From the entrance, a cabinet with mirrored sliding doors welcomes and reflects all the majesty of the living area. Light-colored furnitures, with recessed handles, are placed at the service of the living area in order to leaving the most distinctive accessories as the undisputed protagonists of the room. Among these, the large dark gray sofa, the antique table, the grand piano, the Persian rugs and the sumptuous chandeliers.

The textured white of the furniture, rough to the touch, is combined with a very thin but soft black waxed iron that adorns the shoulders of the TV cabinet and the structure of the bar cabinet. The doors and the back have been deliberately engraved in squares to move the exterior design.

The passage between the living and sleeping areas is broken by a false ceiling lighted corridor, painted with a warm Farrow and Ball ocher color. A touch of color also fits delicately into the sleeping area. The bedroom has a side wall in a strong sage green and the mirrored sliding doors, which allow access to the walk-in closet, reflect and expand the perception of space.

The master bedroom enjoys a beautiful city view thanks to the large window at the bottom. Furniture in transparent plexiglass and white lacquered are combined with fabrics and curtains in predominantly neutral colors and a dove-gray background. Shelves and drawers in dark wood give to the walk-in closet a prestigious and sober aesthetic impact, lightened by light-colored shelves, covered in a soft eco-leather.

Last but not least are the three bathrooms, different in their architectural design but similar in the combination of materials. The medium gray tiles of the floor in their vertical declination are characterized by a thin texture, which is combined with the white ceramics of the shower tray and washbasins and bathroom cabinets in light Lacobel. The transparencies and reflections of this material soften and lighten the environment. Pointed lights and ceiling LED strips alternate the natural light throughout the apartment.

Contemporary interiors between pure white and gritty pink

An extremely elegant Milanese residence with refined details. A project addicted to colors, between bright environments immersed in pure white and a kitchen full of character in shades of pink.

Project: Studio MILO
Year: 2020/2021
Site: Milan

The refined interiors of this Milanese apartment are born from the project by Studio MILO. To characterize the rooms is certainly the great brightness of the interiors, underlined by the chromatic choice of the furnishings.
The entrance is immediately characterized by the presence of a boiserie that alternates the white ribbed matt finish in the lower part with the white lacquer of the upper part. The gap between the two elements is marked by a 45 ° shaped aluminum shell which also contains the opening in the points where the boiserie is equipped to become a service cabinet. By becoming a characterizing element for the entire living area, it allows the optimization of spaces by equipping the interiors in the best possible way but hiding the service parts.

From the living area, enriched with pieces of art and contemporary rugs in bright colors, signed CC Tapis, the kitchen takes place. The latter is recognized for its strong touch of color.
Pink furniture doors house shelves in white hydrophobic bilaminate with adjustable height and LED lighting with autocratic switching on opening. Slowed down guides, shaped and 45 ° recessed handles and automated push openings best express the attention to detail and the right combination of elegance and practicality. The top in pink onyx-effect Korion continues along the entire height of the kitchen and is transformed into a wall covering at the front, welcoming simple and elegant wall lights.

In the sleeping area, the stylist line of the white ribbed pattern is taken up to characterize the TV wall of a piece of furniture equipped with folding doors and handles in folded sheet metal. In front of it, the head of the bed in matt white lacquered oak hosts shelves in shaped Carrara marble that act as bedside tables. Both the master bathroom and the service bathroom are recognized by the brightness and simplicity of the white lacquered MDF furniture with recessed handles.

On the side of the master bedroom there is a view of the walk-in closet equipped with a large hanger illuminated laterally by recessed LED Strips and fixed aluminum tubes. The block with drawers for linen also houses a pull-out shelf to serve as a support surface and upper shelves in glass and matt lacquer. To complete the setting, a bright mirror with light-on-view accompanies a cabinet equipped with a support surface consisting of flap doors for costume jewelery and small drawers serving in the remaining structural part.
