Integrating existing furnishings with custom-made furniture is the ideal solution to meet every need, making the most of the available space while ensuring harmony and stylistic continuity. This project focuses on the creation of a bridge wardrobe, designed to complement an existing wardrobe with new furnishings, custom-made for a children’s bedroom. The result is a functional and welcoming space, where every detail contributes to expressing personality and character.
BRIDGE WARDROBE AND BOOKCASE: A SINGLE BESPOKE DESIGN
To maximise storage space, a custom-made bridge wardrobe comprising four modules was designed. Completing and supporting the structure is a shaped side panel with two circular openings, designed to spark the child’s curiosity and give the furniture a playful, dynamic look.
Maintaining the continuity of the design, the wardrobe extends beyond the side panel, transforming into a practical bookcase. The result is a harmonious composition that combines storage and display in a single piece of furniture, while preserving the clean, flowing lines of the overall design.
FUNCTIONALITY AND COMFORT: THE BRIDGE WARDROBE FRAMES THE SLEEPING NOOK
The bridge wardrobe frames a cosy sleeping area, accommodating a single bed with storage drawers and custom-designed recessed handles, created to combine practicality and aesthetics.
Drawing the eye is the soft, upholstered headboard in the shape of a cloud, enhanced by wallpaper carefully selected to complement the room’s colour palette. Completing the nook, an integrated LED lighting system beneath the overhead cabinets casts a warm, welcoming glow, creating the perfect atmosphere for reading bedtime stories to the child.
THE STUDY CORNER: SOFT COLOURS AND REFINED MATERIALS
At the entrance to the children’s bedroom, a custom-shaped desk welcomes the child and accompanies them through the different stages of growing up, providing a dedicated space for studying and creativity.
The brightness of white and the delicate shades of pastel blue create a fresh, harmonious atmosphere. Adding character to the design is the Linoleum Desktop surface, featuring a deeper, denim-inspired shade that creates a pleasing colour contrast and enhances the entire space.
The result is a bespoke children’s bedroom in which the bridge wardrobe, bookcase, sleeping area and study corner work together in harmony through functional solutions, personalised details and a carefully considered balance of aesthetics.
CONCLUSION: A BESPOKE CHILDREN’S BEDROOM, WHERE FUNCTIONALITY MEETS COLOUR
Even when space is limited, it is possible to create a custom-designed project that combines functionality, comfort and aesthetics. Through careful planning and personalised furnishing solutions, every centimetre is made the most of to accommodate all the essential elements of the bedroom, from the bridge wardrobe and sleeping area to the study corner. The result is a harmonious environment that is both practical and full of personality, where soft colours, playful details and carefully selected materials come together to create a space designed to grow with the child, leaving plenty of room for play, creativity and their big little dreams.
