Soft combinations of colors and materials

In an urban apartment of a young couple, bold colors and natural materials blend with elegance and determination.

In an urban apartment of a young couple, bold colors and natural materials blend with elegance and determination.

On the entrance side, a natural oak top embraces the kitchen island, enlivening its visual rhythm.
At first it remains suspended in the connection between the two parts, while at the end of the island it then flows to the ground on a parquet of the same color range.
The result is a visual line that restores the sense of continuity and movement, accompanying the development of the kitchen in a natural and fluid way.
The worktop in recomposed marble effect illuminates the matt anthracite gray lacquered kitchen.
The glossy lacquer of the wall units accompanies the clarity of the top and gives further brightness, while the wood delicately introduces itself into the overall vision with naturalness and elegance.
To make the most of the airy environment of the open space, the kitchen follows a linear development, but at the same time extremely functional.
The central island block is accessible on three sides by alternating the various components according to the main use.
On the inside, in fact, the intention is to better facilitate the preparation of meals, with drawers of different heights containing kitchen utensils and a built-in oven.
On the side facing the living area, on the other hand, it is conviviality that establishes the development of the various elements.
The dining table thus becomes the protagonist, becoming an element incorporated into the kitchen island in moments of rest and autonomous during use.
Among the advantages of choosing a table partially annexed to the kitchen is certainly the possibility of exploiting its extended dimensions according to needs.
In fact, if in its rest position about 60cm are absorbed by the depth of the kitchen and there is space for 4 people, released from the fixed structure it is possible to obtain up to 8 seats in total.
Depending on the amount of surface needed, it is therefore possible to choose how much to extract the table without having to exploit the complex opening mechanisms of extendable tables.
To increase the work surface, which can be easily used as a chopping board, an extractable surface is placed in the flap door above the oven.
A multifunctional kitchen, compact and transformable according to needs, in which the soft combination of colors and natural materials chase each other in the living area and in the other rooms of the house.

The furniture in the living area is structured around the theme of chromatic and material contrast between the clear lacquered structure and the flamed black iron lid, which recalls the anthracite lacquer of the kitchen.
On the top, a bioethanol fireplace, and a bookcase with essential lines also in black iron complete the corner of the living room.

In the master bathroom, the dark brown of the tiles is echoed in the large, shaped cabinet with drawers, open compartments, and retractable doors.

The service bathroom, in neutral shades of cream, houses a cabinet under the sink combined with a storage unit with shelves, also shaped on the side pillar at the entrance.

The sleeping area is characterized by a suspended and illuminated bed in the lower part which is wrapped in a hybrid piece of furniture. This serves as both a headboard and a bedside table, storage unit and side chest of drawers.
The light gray paint reveals the grain of the underlying wood.

The lighting design of the entire apartment makes it very flexible and allows to recreate different emotional scenarios.
The punctual lights above the snack top, the LEDs under the wall units and the top and the flame of the fireplace make it very intimate, while the lights on the walls and in the rooms make it brighter and livelier.

The delicacy of colors and textures

Delicate colors and soft lights fill the interior of this delightful city apartment. The spaces develop in a harmonious way, letting every activity take place naturally within them.

Entering this lovely apartment, guests are greeted by a delightful cabinet with brass profiles that divides the corridor of the sleeping area from the large living area, illuminated by a long window. At the center of the open space, a large, expertly lit dining table stands between the kitchen and the relaxation area. In front of the table, a small “dreamy corner” characterized by lively upholstery and vintage furniture stands out among the other modern and essential furnishings. The kitchen is clear, fresh and functional; it develops in a C shape on three sides and following the shape of the spotlighted false ceiling. The essential aesthetic wall units and the service columns equipped with ovens, refrigerators and pantry accompany the sloping ceiling. A central kitchen island becomes a worktop with a dual function: large storage drawers equip the side adjacent to the cooking area and comfortable shelves become a bookcase overlooking the living area. At the two ends of the floor there are two stations for quick meals.

The Relax area, opposite the kitchen, is distinguished by a large mélange gray sofa set against the TV wall. This is equipped with asymmetrical shelves, backlit TV panel and lateral ribbed panel. As in the rest of the apartment, there are wooden references in light oak that act as a material support for the antique dark wood accessories and blend well with the white and gray lacquers.

In the corridor the shoe cabinet and laundry niche anticipate the service bathroom where the tapestry glimpsed in the living area becomes the characterizing motif of the wall. An important oak top supports the washbasin and remains available for the support of bathroom items. On the right there is the entrance to the master bedroom which is accompanied by a walk-in closet bordered by acid-etched glass with metal profiles. Elegant custom-made handles denote a linear language that is also found internally. In fact, gray shelves and drawers create a visual rhythm thanks to the alternation with hanging compartments. In the bedroom, an equipped piece of furniture uses the entire shaped wall to become additional storage with a compartment dedicated to the television in the center. Finally, a second master bathroom serves the room and houses a large wooden storage unit with two washbasins. The common thread with the other bathroom is the choice of upholstery, however, addressed to the colors of the powder, which wrapping the side walls creates an elegant combination of pastel colors.

Contemporary style with shabby chic elements

A contemporary style apartment in Bergamo in which the choice of some shabby chic furniture caught attention. The furnishings of the living area with a modern taste accompany the kitchen with neutral tones and essential lines.

Project: Modulor
Year: 2015
Site: Bergamo

The renovation of this apartment in Bergamo primarily involved the kitchen, which neutral colors is signature. A white mineral countertop defines the recognizable aesthetic line of the project, continuing also in the full height side doors. This expresses a horizontal reading, underlined by the presence of drawers placed in parallel to the line of the kitchen countertop. Doors with internal shelves hidden the built-in refrigerator in a very elegant visual composition. The dark wood floor with large warm veins taken up the veneer of the dining table. A visual and material continuity that gives balance to the room.

Moving on to the living area, the shabby chic furniture elements take place: a display cabinet with decorative strips repainted in gray-blue and a side bench in white wood treated with vintage cushions on top. A refined retro taste, in line with the shabby chic style in vogue nowadays. From the living room with a bookcase in medium gray lacquer and diagonal lines and a white TV cabinet with shaped recessed handles, you then move on to the raised area that leads to the most private part of the apartment. A full-height bookcase denotes this passage with white essential lines and a regular geometry that stand out from the light-blue coloured back wall.

Two bathrooms respectively in medium gray and pastel green shades close the sleeping area. A light wooden finish was chosen for the cabinet of the first, in plays of neutral shades with the surrounding room. For the second bathroom, however, the suspended cabinet in glossy neutral shades lacquer accompanies the pastel green lacquered wall units with glass doors.
