Entering this lovely apartment, guests are greeted by a delightful cabinet with brass profiles that divides the corridor of the sleeping area from the large living area, illuminated by a long window. At the center of the open space, a large, expertly lit dining table stands between the kitchen and the relaxation area. In front of the table, a small “dreamy corner” characterized by lively upholstery and vintage furniture stands out among the other modern and essential furnishings. The kitchen is clear, fresh and functional; it develops in a C shape on three sides and following the shape of the spotlighted false ceiling. The essential aesthetic wall units and the service columns equipped with ovens, refrigerators and pantry accompany the sloping ceiling. A central kitchen island becomes a worktop with a dual function: large storage drawers equip the side adjacent to the cooking area and comfortable shelves become a bookcase overlooking the living area. At the two ends of the floor there are two stations for quick meals.

The Relax area, opposite the kitchen, is distinguished by a large mélange gray sofa set against the TV wall. This is equipped with asymmetrical shelves, backlit TV panel and lateral ribbed panel. As in the rest of the apartment, there are wooden references in light oak that act as a material support for the antique dark wood accessories and blend well with the white and gray lacquers.

In the corridor the shoe cabinet and laundry niche anticipate the service bathroom where the tapestry glimpsed in the living area becomes the characterizing motif of the wall. An important oak top supports the washbasin and remains available for the support of bathroom items. On the right there is the entrance to the master bedroom which is accompanied by a walk-in closet bordered by acid-etched glass with metal profiles. Elegant custom-made handles denote a linear language that is also found internally. In fact, gray shelves and drawers create a visual rhythm thanks to the alternation with hanging compartments. In the bedroom, an equipped piece of furniture uses the entire shaped wall to become additional storage with a compartment dedicated to the television in the center. Finally, a second master bathroom serves the room and houses a large wooden storage unit with two washbasins. The common thread with the other bathroom is the choice of upholstery, however, addressed to the colors of the powder, which wrapping the side walls creates an elegant combination of pastel colors.

A Loft with an Attractive Design

Lights, materials, lines and volumes create a harmonious contrast in this attractively designed Loft. Dark colors stand out on light walls and bright objects capture the attention within the space.

Entering the loft, warm and articulated lights outline the ceiling of the living area and with a hug they join the straight and gritty lines of the kitchen. The lighting also emerges from the walls, which house racks embedded in stoneware slabs with a Lasa marble effect have luminous shelves. In the center, an imposing electric blue sofa overlooks a bronze lacquered metal effect TV cabinet. This is characterized by two side drawers and a recessed front surface that hides all the electronic devices. The inclined table legs are also in the same finish, supporting an oval top in Sahara Noir and the whole kitchen. This one has dark bases and columns that match a very thin light top of the same material as the living room walls. The kitchen is structured in three parallel volumes: a base under the window, a central island with a snack top in Sahara Noir and a full-height column consisting of ovens and refrigerators. On the side, overlooking the living room, an exposed cellar characterized by bright shelves acts as a return light. In fact, along the same line of sight, there is a framework-cabinet that recalls the constructivist Red Wedge by El Lissitzky, also illuminated. In the sleeping area, a central equipped corridor hides a small closet and leads to the two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom of the loft is characterized by a luminous background panel covered in the same stoneware as the living area. Stylistic references are also found in the intersecting luminous lines that divide the slab. A wardrobe with internal shelves covered in velvet, drawers with dedicated compartments, smoked glass and illuminated side racks remains avalaible on the right side of the room. In front of the bed, the bathroom has a sculpture-washbasin, made of a white travertine block, combined with a metallic bronze lacquered cabinet with drawers. The two bedside tables on the side of the bed also have the same finish. The service bathroom follows the same characteristics as the master bathroom, while the guest bedroom is characterized by a bridge structure in gray tones. Hangers alternate with shelves, and, on the sides, pull-out shelves are useful for supporting small objects. Even in the sleeping area, the skilful use of lights and materials makes the loft environment captivating and hospitable.

Stylistic contrasts in a contemporary villa

The theme of contrast is expressed in a two-family villa with a strong and elegant character. Black becomes the protagonist of a story that tells different finishes, colors and opacities in which each element plays a primary role in the creation of the final work.

A large two-family villa is distributed over three levels, developing the theme of contrast in multiple declinations.
Already at an architectural level, it can be seen in the alternation between large French windows and white plastered vertical partitions. A game of solids and voids that enriches the environment with natural light.

The elements recovered from the old house in dialogue with new custom-made furnishings play a key role in the choice of furnishings. The kitchen is a masterful example of this, in which the matt black lacquered doors create a suggestive combination with the wall units. The latter are covered in black back laquered glass, recalling the aesthetic line of the appliances. On them dominates the Panda White marble top with black veins sometimes enriched by contaminations of a green undergrowth.
The contemporaneity of the kitchen marries the recovery of the adjacent day cabinet in glossy black lacquer, which rediscovers its relevance even after 40 years of splendor. The neutral-toned stoneware floor becomes the basic palette on which more intense colors stand out, ranging from geometric burgundy upholstery to bathroom furniture in the same color.

Upstairs, the change of flooring in favor of a natural oak parquet softens the perception of the rooms while respecting the theme of opposites with insertions of slate-effect tiles in the bathrooms. Once again, the neutrality of the architectural chromatic choice is contrasted by more decisive choices such as the terracotta-colored plastering of a single room and the teal velvet headboard for the double room.
